Park Reservations Kanza Park
Kanza Park is located adjacent to the Prairie Spirit Trail and is a community park featuring a hard surface loop trail, an eighteen hole disc golf course, and an adjacent parking lot. The loop trail, nearly one mile in length, is lighted with Victorian fixtures from downtown Ottawa. The walking and biking abilities give multiple park connections to the adjacent neighborhoods, so the park is overall pedestrian friendly. The park does have an exercise station but it is far past its useful life.
City Park
City Park is approximately five acres and serves as host to assets such at the Carnegie Culture Center, home to the Ottawa Community Arts and Suziki, the Dietrich Pioneer cabin, and the permanent gazebo. To meet ADA standards the sidewalk leads to a rubber pad which serves as a transfer point.
Freedom Park
Freedom Park is a small neighborhood park, one acre, located directly adjacent to the Don Woodward Community Center and Ottawa Skate Park. There is a small playground with four swings, a slide, and some other amenities. There is a shelter and benches with onsite parking at the location.
Ottawa Skate Park
The Ottawa Skate Park features four ramps with a variety of slopes. The park also contains benches and lighting.
Heritage Park
Heritage Park provides the community with a hard surface walking and biking trail that is roughly one fourth of a mile. The playground structure is considered ADA accessible- a concrete paths leads to a rubberized pad which allows for access to the actual feature itself. The park contains the following: a twisty slide, swings, monkey bars, a see saw, spring mounted animals, picnic tables, and a walking path.
Forest Park
Forest Park, home to multiple special events, amenities and assets, has the distinction of being a regional park that is also a signature park. Home to the Aquatic Center, two diamond fields, play features, and recently rennovated tennis courts. The park plays host to the following events: custom car show, antique tractor show, Fourth of July celebration, Veteran's Day Memorial, and ORC 5K Run/Walk. For comfort the park also features locker rooms, concessions, and shelters.
